In July of 2010 the Canastota Fire Department celebrated it's 150th year of Proud and Dedicated service to it's community. During the course of those 150 years the department was made up of three companies with in the department. Those companies were the Forbes Hose Co. #1, Delano Hose Co. #2 and the Patten Hook and Ladder Co. #3.
Each company was responsible for electing it's own Lieutenants, Captain and Chief. While currently operating that way the membership of all three companies voted to merge into one company. Thus we started the process of consolidating the three companies into one this year and soon we will be operating under the company name of the "Canastota Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.". This will change the internal structure of the department and will not even be noticed in the publics eye.
